Storstockholms Lokaltrafik (SL) manages all transport in Stockholm, including buses, trams, the metro, commuter trains, and ferries. The network connects the city center to the surrounding suburbs. There are four modes of transport in the system:

The Stockholm Metro is more than just a metro. Its an art lovers dream. Of the stations it serves, 90 have at least one form of art on display. From mosaics to rock formations. Seven lines cover these stations, and the entire network is over km long. Stockholms underground began operating on a more modest scale in , when it was officially known as the metro. Going back further into its history, it began operations in , but not as a metro, rather as a pre-metro. Stockholm Metro Timings and Frequency
Metro services start at am and run until am. The frequency is about 10 minutes during the day and 15 minutes in the early morning and late evening. At night, the interval between trains is 30 minutes. On Friday and Saturday nights, the service is extended. It's not possible to pay cash for tickets on buses in huvudstaden. Failure to show a valid ticket during a control will incur a SEK penalty fee.
