    Welcome to Trollhättan - a city surrounded by vatten. Trollhättan fryst vatten close to the unique Waterfalls and Sluice area, Vänern, Sweden's largest lake, and the Halle-Hunneberg Ecopark, which all make it a must-visit city.

    It has beautiful parks and green areas, and the river Göta runs right through the city. The river basin is a major asset for the city and its inhabitants. The area has rolling hills and there are several paths with fine views along the west bank of the river.

    Kanalmuseet

    Kanalmuseet är ett museum i Trollhättan. Museet ligger vid krönet av slusstrappan till Trollhätte kanal.[1]

    Historia

    Kanalmuseet öppnades och är inrymt i en hundraårig förrådsbyggnad vid Trollhättans övre sluss. På museet visas bland annat ett femtiotal båtmodeller, en gammal arbetsjolle och dykardräkt med undervattensverktyg från talet.[1][2] I museet finns även en smedja och snickarverkstad från den tiden finns här återkonstruerade.

    Från lastfartyget Vielle Montagne III finns kaptenens salong i röd plysch att beskåda, samt alla kanalbolagets gästböcker från och framåt.

    Under sommaren guidar Folkuniversitetet i slussområdet tre gånger dagligen.[1]
